Pros and cons of OpenMaps app for iPhone and iPad

OpenMaps app good for

It was the last issue to fix, the blue dot issue. It is great now! Free, off line capability ( !!!!! ) use internal compass, many more. Great
The maps are more detailed and readable than with Google Maps, but they are not shown using the highest resolution on iPad 3.
Has stuff other maps dont. Such as trails and my university campus buildings.
—ever! Not only does it use the best online mapping service—OpenStreetMap—but it is designed beautifully, integrates some of the best technologies such as integrated feedback voting and suggestions (ideascale), and contains a lot of power under the hood. Did I mention its free?
森や山の小径までハッキリ判る唯一の地図アプリだと思います。MapTypeはOpenStreetMapがお勧めですね。
Very good app, it could replace the default map application. The good: OSM, routes, POI! The bad: non-intuitive interface (when I search for a street, map should not go to the world view just because there is a street with suitable name in the city 2000 km away from me, also it should be possible to drop a pin with press-and-hold, like in the Maps app), raster maps only, no turn-bu-turn navigation.

Some bad moments

another app that claims to be free and isnt. The free features just make it a cheap version of google maps, and obviously the only useful one is paid.
blue localisation spot is still missing (iPhone 4, iOS 5.1). so app has no function for me :-( please solve the problem quickly!
Could not ever get the view downloads function to work and thus wasted &1.99!!
I tried searching for an address and I kept getting a timeout error... I mean if its not reliable enough to find a simple address then whats the point? Delete?!?!?!
After a frustrating evening of trying to figure out why I cant download the maps for offline, use, I came across this warning on the OpenStreetMap site: "This tool results in heavy traffic for the OSM tile servers and is likely to be blocked." And thats exactly what it is. You get map tiles that say ACCESS BLOCKED" Which is the opposite of a useful offline street map. Until the developers fix this problem by service tiles legitimately, instead of in violation of the OpenStreetMap policies, this app is useless. Do not buy.
This app hogs OSM servers and is blocked by the OSM. Dont waste your time with it!
